Experience Overview

Before the guided experience begins, you'll receive your headsets and meet your private guide, who will accompany you inside the Vatican Museums to discover some of the most extraordinary artistic treasures in the world.

The itinerary includes the Pio Clementino Museum, the Upper Galleries — including the Gallery of Candelabra, the Gallery of Tapestries, and the Gallery of Maps — followed by the Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel.

Throughout the experience, your guide will share engaging explanations about the artworks, the history of the Vatican Museums, and the unique role of Vatican City as an independent state.

At the end of the guided visit, you'll have the opportunity to enter St. Peter's Basilica and continue exploring at your own pace.

Please note: On Wednesday mornings, St. Peter's Basilica access is not included due to the Pope's public audience. Due to occasional religious events, the Basilica may remain closed without prior notice.

Featured Highlight

The Laocoön

Believed to have been created between the 2nd century BC and 1st century AD, this monumental statue was found at the start of the 16th century on Colle Oppio, not far from the Colosseum. Pope Julius II — an art lover and the same Pope who inaugurated the Sistine Chapel — purchased it immediately, making it one of the first two artworks in the Vatican Museums' founding collection.
